Steelhead closures

Many Puget Sound and Strait of Juan de Fuca steelhead rivers are either already closed (Puyallup system) or will be closing Feb. 1 to protect wild stock fish.

Areas staying open through Feb. 16 include the Skykomish from the Highway 2 bridge at the Big Eddy access to the forks; the North Fork Nooksack from the mouth to Maple Creek; the Wallace from the mouth to just above the water intake of the salmon hatchery; the Snoqualmie from the boat ramp at Plum access to the falls; Tokul Creek from the mouth to the posted cable boundary marker; the North Fork Stillaguamish from French Creek to the Swede Heaven Bridge; the Skagit from Rockport to the Cascade; and the Cascade from the mouth to the Rockport-Cascade road bridge.
