Arlington: Joint meeting of officials

A joint meeting of the Arlington City Council, Cascade Valley Hospital board and the Arlington school board is set for 6:30 p.m. Monday in Cascade Valley Hospital's Rainier Conference Room, 330 S. Stillaguamish Ave.

The agenda includes an emergency management report.

State of the District address Tuesday

Arlington Public Schools Superintendent Kristine McDuffy is scheduled to present her fourth annual State of the District address at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Weston High School, 4407 172nd St. NE.

McDuffy plans to provide a report about the district's budget, areas of focus, student achievement, facilities needs and other school issues.

Marysville: Free forums on safety

The Marysville Police Department, in partnership with the Marysville Parks and Recreation Department and the Marysville Community Coalition, plans to host free community forums to help families prepare for an emergency and provide driving safety advice.

The "Expecting the Worst: Emergency Preparedness in Marysville" forum is scheduled for Feb. 7. Police and emergency management officials plan to discuss the most likely types of disasters to happen in the city, emergency response realities, and how to best prepare to survive a disaster.

The second forum, "Getting There Safely: What Every Driver Should Know," is scheduled for March 6 and is set to include information about risks to drivers, defensive driving tips, traffic enforcement and collision investigation.

Both forums are set start at 7 p.m. in the Marysville Pilchuck High School auditorium, 5611 108th St. NE. Registration is not required.

Everett: Dance at the Senior Center

The Carl Gipson Senior Center is hosting a dance on Saturday.

Admission to the event is $4 for seniors age 50 and older. The dance is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. at the senior center, 3025 Lombard Ave.

Music is set to be provided by Lauren Petrie. Refreshments and partial funding for the entertainment is provided by Cascadian Place.

Kids can make crafts for Valentine's Day

Everett Public Library is offering a free Valentine's Day crafts program for kids.

Participants can make Valentine cards, decorations and gifts for friends and family. All supplies are provided free; all ages are welcome.

The program is scheduled for 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Evergreen Branch Library, 9512 Evergreen Way, and from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 9 in the Children's Department at the Main Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave.
