Silver Lake: What's up

The Silver Lake Action Committee invites neighbors and local businesses to learn about south Everett's future in construction and business at 7 p.m. Thursday at Silver Lake Activity Center, 11525 19th Ave. S.E.

Special guest Bob Larson of the city's planning department will review several local rezoning proposals, including the Everett parks property by the fire station.

The developer has applied for that property to become a retail business site.

Regular meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month.

For more information, contact Silver Lake Action Committee by phone at 425-530-2722, by email SilverLakeGroup@hotmail.com, or go to [URL]www.Historic Everett.org/SilverLake.;http://www.HistoricEverett.org/SilverLake[URL]

Partial lane closure of U.S. 2: The state Department of Transportation is planning one-lane closings of U.S. 2 at Rice Road in Sultan Monday and Tuesday.

The closure area is less than a mile, and it's scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The closure is done so crews can do electrical work. Flaggers will be on site to help with traffic.
