Darrington: Town given a 'clean' audit
The town of Darrington gets a state audit every two years and has not received a finding -- a major problem -- in the past eight audits.
The town, with a population of about 1,350 people, provides water distribution, street and parks maintenance, planning and zoning, an airport and a cemetery.
Darrington has four employees and operates on an annual budget of about $1.2 million.
In the most recent audit, the town complied with state laws and regulations and its own policies and procedures, auditors said.
A few minor suggestions were provided to town management.
