Prep girls basketball: Monroe 63, Arlington 47

MONROE -- Ashley Alexander scored 15 points and Alyssa Brazel added 14 as Monroe defeated Arlington 63-47 in a Wesco North girls basketball game on Wednesday.

Krista Showalter scored a game-high 22 points for Arlington. Monroe's Kierra Wilkins had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Monroe head coach Brett Wille said it was a relatively close, physical game until the third quarter when the Bearcats turned a 27-21 halftime lead into an 11-point advantage, 42-31.

"All our Seniors (Brazel, Wilkins and Shaylen Sharp) played well," said Wille of the game, which was senior night at Monroe.
