Everett police awards honor officers, civilians

EVERETT -- The Everett Police Department plans its annual awards ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Everett Performing Arts Center, 2710 Wetmore Ave.

The ceremony recognizes officers and civilians, Sgt. Robert Goetz said. Two officers will receive medals of valor for carrying a woman out of a house fire. At least five members of the public will be honored for preventing crimes or helping police solve crimes.

Other awards include officer of the year, volunteer of the year and the Brian DiBucci Award for an outstanding officer with less than five years of service.

The public is invited.
