Free library classes teach a wide variety of skills

Want to know how to download e-books, make travel plans, fix your finances? Head to your local Sno-Isle Library for one of the Librarians as Information Guides free sessions.

•The Stanwood Library is offering a class on using travel and language databases to plan your next vacation, find maps, online guidebooks or even learn a foreign language.

The class is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Feb. 14. Seating is limited so registering is a must. You can do that online at www.sno-isle.org or by calling the library at 360-629-3132.

•If tracing your roots is on your "someday" list, a class on the basics of genealogical research is offered at 2 p.m. Feb. 12 at the Snohomish Library and at 11 a.m. Feb. 18 at the Brier Library.

The class will show you how to use the Ancestry Library Edition. Register online or call the Snohomish Library at 360-568-2898, or the Brier Library at 425-483-0888, ext. 3420.

•If you have, or are thinking about getting, an e-reader learn all about the library's free downloads and how to do it at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Mukilteo Library. The class is also offered at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Langley Library.

You can also learn about downloading audiobooks. Bring your e-reader, laptop or Wi-Fi-enabled device if you want to download a book during the class.
