So many sea lions

Read about how the increase in sea lion populations is leading to more fights over salmon in our story here.
California sea lions are a common sight in Puget Sound. Their numbers have rebounded dramatically since the Marine Mammal Protection act was passed in 1972.

Their range covers nearly the entire West Coast of North America, from Mexico to Alaska. Hundreds of California sea lions may be found in the waters of Snohomish County. The noisy pinnipeds have a particular fondness for the floating fence that surrounds the piers at Naval Station Everett.
