Mitigation options available

Regarding the letter, "Get a ticket, then see what you think": In case the writer's prediction comes true and some stuck in the intersection do get tickets issued from the robocops in Lynnwood: please, people, read your ticket so that you truly understand your options before deciding how to approach the situation.

Contrary to the writer's assertion, you do not have to "fight" every such ticket; especially since, technically, you were in the intersection, and fighting a ticket means you categorically deny that the infraction even occurred.

If you read your ticket, you will see that you have two other options: mitigation by hearing or mitigation by mail. These are there for people who find themselves technically guilty of an infraction that occurred because of unforeseeable, unavoidable circumstances. This sort of situation is precisely why provisions for mitigation, especially mitigation by mail, are provided.

I am neutral on the camera issue, but I can't imagine why, short of perhaps paranoia or ignorance of said provisions, mitigation by mail under these sorts of circumstances wouldn't be an acceptable option. I have personally mitigated two complicated infractions, and have had satisfactory outcomes.
