Davis leads UW women to 67-61 win over USC

LOS ANGELES — Jazmine Davis scored 26 points and Washington shook off a slow start to beat USC 67-61 on Sunday.

The Huskies (12-9, 4-7 Pac-12) had lost four of their last five, and seven straight against the Trojans. They were coming off an overtime loss Thursday at UCLA, and USC began Sunday's game by taking a 9-0 lead.

But Davis scored 18 points in the first half to keep Washington in it, with the Trojans up 37-34 at halftime.

USC (12-10, 6-5) led by nine in the second half before the Huskies took the lead for good at 53-51 when Mercedes Wetmore made two free throws with 4:11 remaining. That was in the middle of a 10-0 Washington run.

Mollie Williams had 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Huskies, and Regina Rogers added 13. Ashley Corral led USC with 19 points, and Cassie Harberts had 12 points and 11 rebounds.
