Seems Like Yesterday

50 years ago (1962)

Carl Gipson and Peter Pettersen, former employees of Sevenich Motor Co., had opened a new business, Carl and Pete's Service Station at Hewitt and Rucker avenues. They were operating as a partnership, Pete serving as salesman and Carl as service manager. Both were married with three children, Gipson made his home in Everett and Pettersen in Marysville.

Six members of the Everett High School Chorus, trained by Marguerite Snavely, were among the 425 chosen for the chorus that would sing at the Washington Music Education's Association's convention in Tacoma later this month. They were Dale Bornkamp, Gary Hatle, Dennis Cunningham, Linda Vik, Ann Gileland and Greg Muncaster.

25 years ago (1987)

Julie Pfeifer of Everett was one of four winners of The Bon's Women's World Model Contest. She was selected from 43 finalists and would model in the Women's World Spring Fashion Show in March. She had modeled professionally for about two years, including for Frederick & Nelson.

Teenage girls could register for Seventeen magazine's Beautyworks, a fashion seminar at the The Bon in Alderwood Mall. Topics included skin care, makeup, hair and fashions. The fee was $25 per person.
