Darrington: Skate park dinner, auction
A Sweethearts' Supper and Silent Auction is planned for 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Darrington Community Center, 570 Sauk Ave. A $10 ticket gets you an Italian dinner, socializing and access to the silent auction.
Tickets are available at the Darrington Family Support and Resource Center, near the school. Proceeds benefit the town's skate and BMX park.

Everett: Get prepared for a disaster
The Everett Fire Department is offering a spring Community Emergency Response Team class on Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. beginning March 1 through April 19 at the fire department.
The deadline for applications is Feb. 10. The eight-week course will provide a variety of disaster planning, recovery and survival skills aimed at surviving and assisting our community in disaster response and recovery. People living in Everett, as well as business owners, are encouraged to participate or send employees to these free emergency preparedness classes.
To date, more than 480 people have participated in the program.

Valentine for mom
Everett Public Library is scheduling a Valentine program for kids of all ages 3 p.m. Thursday at the main library in the activity room, 2702 Hoyt Ave.
Use fancy papers, die-cut shapes, stickers and rubber stamps to create cards and crafts. All supplies provided. The activity is free.

Edmonds: Performing school groups sought
The Edmonds Arts Festival is accepting applications from musical or dance groups to perform June 17 during the 2012 Edmonds Arts Festival. Only school, youth or family groups are invited to participate. Download an application form and instructions at Deadline is March 15.

Mukilteo: New police front-desk hours
The Mukilteo Police Department is changing its front-desk hours. The department's lobby will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Fingerprinting will be available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays,.
The police department is located at 10500 47th Place West. People should call 911 in emergencies.
Sultan: Workshop on business finances
The Sky Valley Chamber of Commerce and Mayor Carolyn Eslick are hosting a free business workshop dealing with business finance and taxes.
The workshop is scheduled to start at 1 p.m., Thursday, at the Sultan Community Center, 319 Main St. Space is limited so interested people are asked to call the chamber at 360-793-0983 or by email by Wednesday to reserve space.
Warm Beach: Marine Drive lane closures
Drivers in the Warm Beach area are being asked to take note of intermittent lane closures on Marine Drive this week.
Lanes are scheduled to be closed daily from 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. through Friday between 201st Street NW and Frank Waters Road as part of the county's Warm Beach pedestrian beacon light project.
