Police investigate two deaths in Snohomish County

Police in Snohomish County were investigating two deaths on Tuesday night.

Near Edmonds, a suspected burglar was reported shot and killed by a home owner. The shooting was reported about 8:10 p.m. in the 8900 block of 225th Place SW, Snohomish County sheriff's bureau chief Kevin Prentiss said.

The suspected burglar died at the scene. The major crimes unit was investigating and releasing few details.

Meanwhile, Everett police were investigating the discovery of a man's body in a north Everett alleyway.

That death has been deemed suspicious, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said.
The body was found about 6:45 p.m. in an alley behind a home in the 2600 block of Hoyt Avenue.

The man appeared to be in his 40s and there were no obvious signs of trauma.

Detectives believe the death could be a homicide, Goetz said. They were talking with several people who they believe may have information about how the man died and why he was in the alley.

The victim apparently did not live at that address, Goetz said.
