4 arrested for unlawful disposal after body found in Everett alley
EVERETT -- Police now believe a man found dead in a north Everett alleyway on Tuesday night died from a drug overdose in a nearby apartment.
Four people who were with the man when he died reportedly put his body in the alley so they wouldn't get in trouble with their landlord, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said.
Two men and two women who lived at the apartment were booked into Snohomish County Jail for investigation of unlawful disposal of remains, a misdemeanor under Washington state law.
The man apparently died at a home in the 2600 block of Colby Avenue, Goetz said.
His body was found about 6:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 2600 block of Hoyt Avenue, about a block away.
The man appeared to be in his 40s, police said. His identity had not been released as of Wednesday morning.
