Olympic Peninsula steelhead

Wild-stock steelhead are the featured attraction this time of year on the Olympic Peninsula rivers, and checks over the weekend by state personnel showed good fishing in a number of areas.
On the upper Hoh, 43 boat and 27 bank anglers were checked with 26 wild steelhead, released; on the Sol Duc, 88 boaters and 25 bank fishermen had 113 wild fish released and 40 hatchery fish; on the Calawah, it was 14 boaters with 16 wild fish released and four hatchery fish; and on the Bogachiel, 45 boaters with 21 wild fish released and 23 hatchery fish.
