Prep boys basketball: Shorewood 67, Mount Vernon 43

SHORELINE -- Josh Hawkinson's 22 points and Semir Kadiric's 18 paved the way for Shorewood in a 3A District 1 tournament game. Hawkinson, a junior center, was 10 of 15 from the field and gathered 12 rebounds. Gage Carroll totaled 16 points for the Thunderbirds, including 4-for-5 from 3-point range. Shorewood plays Shorecrest, a team it split with in the regular season, in a loser-out, home game on Tuesday.
