Don't repeal will of the voters, fund it

Lawmakers in Olympia need to implement Initiative 1163 to protect vulnerable individuals in Washington. Instead of funding this policy and moving on, some legislators are calling for its repeal. Have they forgotten that Washington voters have twice passed this common-sense initiative?

I-1163 protects our most vulnerable by requiring caregivers to receive federal background checks and increased training. This translates into more people being able to stay in their homes, closer to their family, friends and community. Without these provisions, more people would be forced into expensive nursing homes. Legislators need to follow the will of the voters and implement I-1163.
