Hate-mongering is not Christianity

I read with shock and outrage the headline "Westboro Church to picket Powell boys' funeral." To use this tragedy to spread their hate-filled message is unconscionable and I thank The Herald for its excellent editorial on this subject. (Friday, "Hate: Some people know no limits.")

I am a "saved by grace" church-going Christian; my Bible tells me to "hate the sin but love the sinner" and to glorify God by showing his love to everyone I meet. The members of Westboro Church and people like them who call themselves "Christians" do more harm to "The Kingdom" than all the atheists and satanists put together. May God have mercy on their souls.
