Tournament site should rotate

Over the last more than 50 years I have been either an athlete or a spectator in the Western Conference. I was an Everett Seagull in the mid '60s, as my brothers were in the late '50's. As a Snohomish resident for the past 20-plus years I have rooted for the Panthers.

The Western Conference District Basketball Tournament is upon us and I see that all of the boys games subsequent to Round 1 are once again to be played at Jackson High School, as they are every year. I have never understood this. It is not fair.

Because the district tournament is always played at Jackson, each year the Timberwolves have home court advantage in this all-important tournament which determines who gets to go to the state tournament at the Tacoma Dome.

Jackson High School has a beautiful gym facility, but I believe the district tournament needs to be played at a different school each year. It is not fair that Jackson is always granted home court advantage for such an important tournament.
