Bob MacIsaac has been hired as Bank of Washington's senior vice president for community banking. He oversees the bank's branch network and commercial banking teams in Snohomish and King counties. MacIsaac's banking career spans more than 25 years in community and commercial banking. Most recently, he was a senior vice president and regional manager for Union Bank (formerly Frontier Bank). "We were incredibly fortunate to attract someone of Bob's caliber," said Bruce Clawson, president and chief executive officer at the bank. "His wealth of banking experience and leadership skills will help us grow and strengthen our franchise."



Ron Gipson, Everett City Council president, has been appointed to the National League of Cities' 2012 Finance, Administration, and Intergovernmental Relations Steering Committee. NLC is a resource and advocate for 19,000 cities, towns and villages. As a member of the committee, Gipson will play a key role in shaping NLC's policy, while advocating on behalf of America's cities and towns on Capitol Hill, with the administration and at home.



Last month, the Snohomish County Bar Association installed officers for the 2012 term. The officers include President Stephanie Petersen, Vice President William Steffener, Treasurer Jennifer Rancourt and Secretary Roberta Madow. At the same meeting, Judge Michael Downes spoke about developments in the Superior Court.

The Greater Lake Stevens Chamber of Commerce has welcomed two more member businesses: Genesis Learning Academy, an academic and Bible-driven preschool, and Pioneer Square 76 Gas & Flirt Frozen Yogurt.



App developers, Web developers, designers, writers, photographers, videographers and other creative professionals who work with technology are invited to join a new high tech entrepreneurs meet-up group in Snohomish and Mill Creek. Snohomish County Tourism is launching two new travel guides for 2012: a spring/summer edition and a fall/winter edition. The new, larger-format guides will be distributed at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and at county and state visitor information centers. The space reservation deadline is Feb. 28.

Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler fined insurance companies, agents and brokers more than $1.3 million in 2011. Violations included wrongly denying medical claims, overcharging customers, misappropriating clients' money, charging unapproved rates and submitting false documents. Over the past 11 years, Kreidler has issued more than $13 million in fines against insurers, agents and brokers who violated the law. The Female Entrepreneurs' Business Network and Resource Fair is Feb. 23 at Edmonds Community College in the Black Box Theatre from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Topics include starting and managing a business, financing, counseling and training. Snohomish County Public Utility District will offer free information sessions about the utility's Solar Express program, which offers a range of incentives and educational support for customers interested in solar energy. Good deeds

Dressbarn is teaming up with the non-profit organization Dress for Success to gather clothing for its S.O.S. donation drive March 1-4. The drive helps women in need with professional business attire. All 825 Dressbarn stores across the country, including Dressbarn in Tulalip, will serve as drop-off sites for new or gently used professional attire including suits, dress shirts, blazers, pants, dresses and shoes that will be used to benefit women seeking to transition into the workforce.



Dr. Ardi Pribadi and the team at Autumnwood Dental in Arlington celebrated National Give Kids a Smile Day by offering free dental care to more than 20 under-served children from the area. They hope to raise awareness for National Children's Dental Health Month, which is sponsored by the American Dental Association.



AAA Washington's Soap for Hope donation drive recently collected and distributed a record number of toiletry items for charitable organizations throughout Washington and northern Idaho. The Everett, Lynnwood and Mill Creek AAA offices collected more than 16,000 items. All items collected at the Everett, Lynnwood and Mill Creek offices were donated locally to Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County.
