Person who killed pregnant Mattawa woman at large
MATTAWA -- The Grant County sheriff's office says a pregnant woman was unloading groceries from her car when she was shot Saturday night outside her apartment.
The 28-year-old woman was seven-and-a-half months pregnant. She was taken to a hospital in Othello where she and the unborn child died.
Chief Deputy Ryan Rectenwald said the coroner will release the woman's name.
He says the woman was apparently shot by someone on foot. Rectenwald said it's not domestic violence. Her husband or boyfriend was inside at the time.
No one saw the shooting but Rectenwald says detectives Monday are working several leads.
