Chokehold

Chokehold

AT&T customers who do things like stream videos on their smartphones may find the devices "throttled" -- in other words, reduced to 1996 dial-up modem speeds -- as AT&T tries to reduce demand on its cellular data network (Page A4).

Sounds like it's time for yet another new AT&T motto. The Buzz suggests: "AT&T: What Can We Do to Enrage You Today?"

Sole Survivor? Tune in Wednesday to see Everett banker Michael Jefferson on "Survivor: One World," as season No. 24 of the long-running reality series begins (Page D1).

In this year's gimmick, the players are divided by gender into two tribes, both living in the same beach camp. We assume that means the men's team's challenges will include remembering to put the toilet seat down.

Everett is for lovers: Amazon.com has declared Everett to be the 16th most romantic city in America, based on sales of lovey-dovey items like romance novels, Barry White records and, ahem, sexual wellness products (above).

Sounds like it's time for a new Everett motto. The Buzz suggests: "If This Town's Rockin', Don't Bother Knockin'."
