Seems Like Yesterday

50 years ago (1962)

A spelling contest was enjoyed at the meeting of the Silver Thread group at the Housing Authority auditorium. Ann Wilson presided at the business meeting. Our Golden Hours Chorus with Josephine Johnson as director, gave a program of songs, skits and readings. Lunch was served by Ethel Crosby, Helen Inch, Edith Bray and Virgie Levin.

Food projects occupied the attention of two county 4-H Clubs. They were Spoons and Thimbles of Olympic View Junior High and the Sweet Cookies of Lincoln School. Among the girls preparing for the demonstration contests were Judy Bryant and Irene Payne working under the watchful eye of Dorothy Taylor, leader of the Sweet Cookie group.
