SNOHOMISH -- Junior guard Krista Showalter scored eight of her game-high 13 points in the fourth quarter to lead Arlington to a 45-40 victory over Snohomish in the 4A District 1 girls basketball loser-out game on Tuesday night.

Arlington advances to Friday's loser-out game against Stanwood at 6 p.m. at Arlington High School.

Snohomish trailed 34-33 entering the fourth quarter, but the Panthers made just one-of-six free throw attempts in the final period as Arlington out-scored Snohomish 11-7 en route to the victory.

The game was "back-and-forth most of the way," said Snohomish coach Ken Roberts, "staying between two and four points the entire time."

Snohomish senior guard Julia Young had seven points in the first quarter and finished the game with a team-high 10 points.
