Everett: Lincoln Day dinner this weekend
The Snohomish County Republican Party plans to host its 2012 Lincoln Day dinner and fundraiser Saturday at Comcast Arena in Everett.
Michael Medved, the conservative host of a nationally syndicated radio talk show, will be the keynote speaker at the annual event.
Activities get under way at 5:30 p.m.
Registration is closed but if you are interested in attending or volunteering, contact the county Republican Party office at 360-653-1100.
Marysville: Libraries offer free tax help
Free tax return preparation and tax forms are available at Sno-Isle Libraries.
Sno-Isle Libraries offers free, one-on-one assistance with individual federal tax returns through the AARP Tax-Aide program at the following libraries: Coupeville, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Marysville, Mountlake Terrace, Oak Harbor and Snohomish.
Priority is given to those 60 and older, but AARP membership is not required. Appointments can be made in person at the library.
IRS tax forms and instructions are available at all Sno-Isle libraries and can be printed from library computers for free.
Extra computers dedicated to tax season are available at the Edmonds, Freeland, Lynnwood, Marysville, Mill Creek, Monroe, Mountlake Terrace, Oak Harbor, Snohomish, and Sultan libraries.
Sno-Isle Libraries has ordered all common IRS forms and plans to make them available as soon as they arrive. Some forms have been delayed by the IRS to late February.

Stanwood: Shoes still being collected
Susanna Mantis, owner of Z's Body & Soul shop, is collecting shoes for children and adults from families in need.
The shoes are to be distributed through local food banks.
Mantis asks that people look through their closets to find sturdy shoes that are in good shape to donate.
The shoes can be left at her shop at 9504 271st St. NW in Stanwood.
