Man shot at Zillah convenience store
ZILLAH -- Police say witnesses to a shooting early Friday at a Zillah convenience store are uncooperative, but it involved a fight in the parking lot.
A 23-year-old Toppenish man was wounded in the neck, back and lower leg by shotgun pellets.
Police Chief Dave Simmons told the Yakima Herald-Republic he was treated at Toppenish Community Hospital and is expected to recover.
Police said the victim was in a vehicle outside the Sunmart shortly before 3 a.m. when another car pulled up and a fight began. Two rounds were fired from a shotgun by a man who arrived in another vehicle.
