Former Ore. nurse arrested on porn charges

WASHOUGAL -- A 43-year-old Washington state man who worked as a pediatric nurse at a Portland, Ore., hospital faces child pornography charges.

Federal officials say Bryan W. Corbitt was arrested at his Washougal home Thursday night after federal agents linked him to an online screen name that had been identified sharing files of child pornography using peer-to-peer software.

Corbitt worked at Oregon Health & Science University Doernbecher Children's Hospital. He resigned Feb. 10.

The Oregonian reported that OHSU officials conducted an internal investigation and discovered Corbitt had sent four photos from a patient's family to his private email account. The photos weren't sexual in nature but emailing photos of patients without authorization violates OHSU policy.

On Friday, OHSU sent 10,000 letters to families of patients alerting them to his arrest.
