Huckabee endorses Koster for Congress

Republican John Koster is piling up the endorsements in his bid for Congress.

Today Mike Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas who ran for president in 2008, announced his support of Koster in the contest for the 1st Congressional District.

Huckabee said in a statement:
"John has the right experience to represent Washington's 1st District, having been a successful businessman and dedicated public servant. With his positive message of more innovation, more jobs, less taxes and less government interference, John will bring a fresh voice to Congress."

Koster, a Snohomish County Councilman, is the lone Republican among the eight people now vying for the seat which U.S. Rep. Jay Inslee, D-Wash., is vacating to run for governor.

As expected, Koster has garnered support of key Republicans throughout the district and the state.

The other hopefuls are Democrats Darcy Burner, Suzan DelBene, state Rep. Roger Goodman, state Sen. Steve Hobbs, Darshan Rauniyar and Laura Ruderman, and Independent Larry Ishmael.
