"The Future Remembered" recounts the 1962 Seattle World's Fair.

Do you remember the Seattle World's Fair, when the Space Needle first was built?

If so, or even if you don't, join the authors of a new book about the 1962 Seattle World's Fair at a lecture and slide show Saturday.

Fifty years ago dignitaries and celebrities descended on the Seattle Center, taking rides on the first-ever monorail.

The entire era and all the people who made it possible are vividly portrayed in the new coffee-table book, "The Future Remembered: The 1962 Seattle World's Fair and Its Legacy."

The book's authors, Paula Becker and Edmonds resident Alan J. Stein, are scheduled to talk about the fair at the Alderwood Manor Youth Club.

Slides are included in the presentation and people are encouraged to share their fair memories. It's all part of the 50th anniversary of the Seattle World's Fair.

The presentation is free and scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Alderwood Manor Youth Club, 19719-24th Ave W., Lynnwood.

For more information, call 425-775-4694 or email info@alderwood.org.
