Flood watch issued for Snohomish County rivers
All the major rivers in Snohomish County are under a flood watch this week with heavy rain forecast through Wednesday in the Cascades, according to the National Weather Service in Seattle.
The Stillaguamish, Skykomish and Snohomish rivers are among those considered the greatest threats to rise above their banks, according to the advisory.
The heaviest rain -- 4 to 7 inches -- is expected to fall in the mountains in eastern Snohomish and King counties over the next couple of days, according to the Weather Service. The rain was expected to begin Monday night and continue throughout the week, with the heaviest part coming Tuesday.
The advisory also listed the Snoqualmie and Tolt rivers among those with the greatest flooding risk. All main stem rivers in Western Washington are under a flood watch, according to the Weather Service.
A flood watch means conditions are favorable for flooding but that flooding is not imminent or occurring.
