Front Porch: Cooking demonstrations and nutrition advice

Healthier Choices, a free family event, will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Meadowdale Elementary School, 6505 168th St. SW, Lynnwood.

Healthier Choices features cooking demonstrations and nutrition advice from Swedish/Edmonds registered dietitian Megan Ellison and a special video appearance by culinary and television personality Graham Kerr.

The second event in the Healthier Choices series is an opportunity for families to learn fun ways to involve children in meal preparation.

Workshop with glass artist
A workshop with glass artist Janet Foley is scheduled for Wednesday.

Participants can learn how to make their own projects using fused glass during the class from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Jennings Memorial Park Barn, 6915 Armar Road, Marysville.

Registration and material fees apply by choice of project. The registration fee is $35 and a materials fee is $20 to $45. For more information, call 360-363-8400 or go to www.marysvillewa.gov.

Strategic Plan open house in Mill Creek
The city of Mill Creek will be hosting a Strategic Plan Open House/Workshop from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 15728 Main St.

The open house will present information about the final draft version of the city's Strategic Plan. The document is available on the city's website, www.cityofmillcreek.com.

The open house and workshop will be held using a drop-in format for the first hour, followed by a presentation and further discussion at 6:30 p.m.
