Edmonds police arrest man after search of home turns up 'boatload' of stolen property
The case began in January after a burglar hit a house along Coronado Place, making off with thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and two handguns, Edmonds police Sgt. Mike Blackburn said.
An Edmonds resident soon called police with information about a suspicious person. That tip helped lead detectives to the Edmonds man, who allegedly had been selling jewelry in Seattle in recent weeks.
The jewelry sold was identified as that of burglary victims in Edmonds, Blackburn said.
Detectives served a search warrant at the man's home earlier this month.
The investigation is ongoing and has already led to another burglary arrest in south county, Blackburn said.
"What's exciting is our guys got the bad guy," he said. "They recovered a boatload of very valuable property, and then who knows how many burglaries or how many crimes will be resolved as they progress through all of this."
