Lace up those hiking boots and head to the Camano Ridge Forest Preserve for a guided winter walk with the Friends of Camano Island Parks.
Hikers will meet at 9:50 a.m. today at the Camano Multipurpose Center, 141 E. Camano Drive. Look for the blue building next to the tennis courts.
The 3.3-mile walk climbs up for the first half-mile, about a 200-foot elevation gain, then levels out along the ridge. The approximately two-hour hike includes a loop though the forest and a stop at Kristofferson Beaver Marsh.
The event takes place rain or shine, so dress appropriately and wear sturdy shoes or boots. Could be muddy.
The group plans two more hikes: April 7, Cama to Camano Island State Park; and May 5, Iverson Spit Preserve.
