EVERETT — The next two days should bring some warm relief from Monday night’s meager snowfall.
“We think things are going to dry out from here on out,” National Weather Service meteorologist Johnny Burg said Tuesday.
Colder temperatures were expected in Everett and surrounding areas on Tuesday night. Any place that falls below freezing could have patches of ice on streets and sidewalks on Wednesday morning.
Wednesday and Thursday are supposed to be dry and sunny, with temperatures in the 40s and 50s.
The weekend will be cloudy, but no more snow is expected, Burg said.
“It’s just going to be rain, so hopefully spring is going to stick and stay stuck,” he said.
People reported up to four inches of snow in Island County from Monday night, but most places saw only an inch or two.
The Tuesday morning commute had a few slick spots near Lake Stevens, especially on less-traveled roads, said trooper Keith Leary with the Washington State Patrol.
Only a few minor incidents were reported from drivers going too fast for conditions and sliding off the roads, Leary said. No injuries were reported.
“Overall, not bad,” he said.
All school districts were open, but most ran late schedules or restricted transportation options.
