Everett: Nominate a good kid for award
Nominations are being accepted through April 6 for the annual Mayor's Youth Achievement Award, which recognizes the accomplishments of people ages 8 to 20 who attend school in the Everett area.
Nominations are sought in three age categories: 8-11, 12-15 or 16-20. Winners will be selected from each category.

Mill Creek: Volunteers sought for commission
The city of Mill Creek is seeking a volunteer to fill two vacancies on the Planning Commission. Each volunteer would serve a two-year term.
Commission meetings are the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. The commission prepares a comprehensive plan for the orderly and coordinated development of land and building. It conducts public hearings on all proposed regulations concerning the use of land and makes recommendations for appropriate action on such proposed land-use regulations.

Snohomish County: Group selects officers
Snohomish County Tomorrow, a group that coordinates planning efforts among the county, its cities and the Tulalip Tribes, has selected new officers for the year. Mill Creek Councilman Terry Ryan and County Council Chairman Brian Sullivan have been chosen as co-chairman for the group. Chosen as vice chairpersons are Marysville Mayor Jon Nehring and County Councilwoman Stephanie Wright.

Stanwood: Panel discusses immigration
The Stanwood Library has scheduled a panel discussion, "Immigration: Be an Informed Voter," from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday as part of its "Issues that Matter" series.
The discussion will be at the Floyd Norgaard Center, 27130 102nd Ave. NW, Stanwood.
The panel plans to explore the topic of immigration. Questions to be asked include: Do our current laws work? How do immigration issues affect you and your community?
The speakers panel includes an immigration attorney and a state representative. Audience members can ask questions.
The session is supported by the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation.
