It’s time to find out if that ugly vase your grandmother gave you is worth keeping.
”Antiques Roadshow,” the hit traveling PBS appraisal program, will film Aug. 18 in Seattle.
This is the long-running show on which people bring keepsakes to find out if they are valuable. Professional appraisers determine the retail or auction estimate of the items, often creating much drama. The fun of the show is seeing people’s jaw drop when they learn grandma’s vase may be worth thousands of dollars.
Tickets to attend the “Roadshow” are distributed free via a lottery. (Local PBS stations had a limited number of tickets in exchange for pledges, but they sold out quickly.)
You can enter the lottery at pbs.org/roadshow, but be sure to register by 8:59 p.m. April 16.
Or you can apply by mail by sending a postcard to “Seattle ROADSHOW,” Box 249, Canton, MA 02021. Include your name and the complete address where you live. Postcards must be received by April 16.
About 3,000 pairs of tickets will be distributed.
Lots of rules apply to people who get tickets, so be sure to check out the show’s website before hauling that credenza your wife inherited.
“Antiques Roadshow” airs at 8 p.m. most Mondays on PBS.
