CAMANO ISLAND -- A house fire on Camano Island on Monday night apparently started in the garage, officials said.
The fire was reported about 5:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of York Place, said Levon Yengoyan, assistant fire chief with Camano Island Fire & Rescue.
The garage was a total loss, he said. The flames started to spread into the house but were quickly extinguished.
There was significant water and smoke damage to the house, Yengoyan said. No one was seriously injured, but one firefighter was treated at the scene for a minor injury, he said.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation Tuesday.
Crews also responded from Stanwood, Silvana and the North County Regional Fire Authority.
