ARLINGTON -- A student from Everett was arrested Wednesday afternoon after he reportedly was found in possession of an air pellet gun and illegal knife near Arlington High School, officials said.

An Arlington police officer who works at the high school was contacted by students who reported someone on campus with a gun around 2:45 p.m., Arlington police spokeswoman Kristin Banfield said.

The officer found the suspect on the sidewalk in front of the campus.

The Everett man, 18, was booked into the Marysville Municipal Jail for investigation of possessing an illegal knife, Banfield said.

He is a student at the Northwest Regional Learning Center, located at Weston High School in Arlington.

"It appears that the student typically takes a bus from Weston High School to Arlington High School and is then transported back to Everett," Banfield said.
