EVERETT -- It may have taken awhile, but the Everett Police Department now has a Facebook page.
The site is http://tinyurl.com/EverettPoliceFacebook.
After 45 days of working out the kinks, the department is inviting people to take a look, police Lt. Robert Goetz said.
The department's site will include a police blotter, provide crime prevention tips from Colby the Crime Prevention Dog and offer information about how people can help solve crimes and identify crooks.
The site also will provide information on upcoming department events, such as a July 4th Community Open House and National Night Out.
While the police department won't allow comments directly on the page, users can email to express views or to help with crime tips, Goetz said.
The department's email address is police@ci.everett.wa.us.
