SNOHOMISH — The Jackson baseball team utilized six pitchers in Saturday’s 3-2 win over Snohomish, its final game before the league season begins on Tuesday.
One of the pitchers was Alex Kisena, a first baseman who spent the fourth inning on the mound and drove in two runs with a single in the first inning that pushed Jackson to the victory at Snohomish High School.
Snohomish used seven pitchers in the game as both teams gave pitchers an opportunity to prove themselves before league play begins.
“It was a non-leaguer so we were just trying to get some guys in. … They are all competing for spots, they all went out and threw pretty good today,” said Jackson coach Kirk Nicholson.
Jackson begins league play on Tuesday at home against Cascade.
“I thought throwing six guys — they got a lot of strikes and got ahead. I think they all did a nice job, as a total group they did a nice job,” said Nicholson.
