For all your Hunger Games needs: The staff of the new Cabela's in Tulalip is busy stocking shelves and preparing for the sporting goods mega-stores' April 19 opening. A spokesman for the store promised a "uniquely Cabela's ribbon-cutting ceremony" but did not elaborate.
However, sources close to the stuffed animal involved said the ribbon would be strung between the antlers of one of the stuffed moose heads on the wall and then split with an arrow from a compound bow.
Annexation anxiety: A major issue in the debate about the annexation of nearly six square miles into Bothell involves fire and paramedic services in the community and the related jobs.
If the issue isn't settled soon all those Annexation Yes and No Annexation campaign signs along Bothell-area roads could pose a fire hazard.
Got a free pass to EMP: An AWOL soldier in Pittsburgh allegedly stole the identity of Seattle billionaire Paul Allen by changing the address on Allen's bank account and then running up charges of more than $15,000 on Allen's account. But it was a bank employee and not Allen, owner of the Seattle Seahawks, who discovered the fraud.
The fraud was discovered before the Pittsburgh man could make final arrangements for a trade that would have brought quarterback Tim Tebow to the Seahawks.
