Seems Like Yesterday

50 years ago (1962)
Linda Merrick, Richard Lueth and Tom Karas were named commencement speakers for the Everett High School Class of 1962. The trio was chosen by a vote of members of the class and the high school faculty from among those who earned a place on the class' three-year-honor roll.
Janet Harms and Ken Scott danced the Charleston in the costumes they would wear to the Roaring 20's party to be held at Cascade High School on April 14. The party for Cascade students and guests would include a floor show and costume judging.
25 years ago (1987)
The Centennial Drama Team was performing "Love Stands," a new play by Clyde Walker, at the Cascade High School cafeteria. Mountain View Community Church of Snohomish was hosting the free performance. It also would be presented at Everett Alliance Church on Colby Ave.
Fellowship Baptist Church was a newly organized congregation that met for worship at Cathcart Elementary School, said Charles Joyner, a founder. The emphasis was on the Bible and development was through small group fellowships.
