Homes are located on the ridge above each side of this stream channel. A notice posted nearby alerts neighbors about maintenance the city is doing now, including removing wood debris and hazardous trees and adding rock and fill to protect culvert footings.
This slow moving slide deposited some gunk on the road. That's now gone but the alders are tilting from the hillside at an odd angle.
The city doesn't have much right-of-way access to get in and fix this so they're trying to work out a deal with the property owner.
I took these photos of three separate slides today. The first slide is located off 25th Ave. W in the Stratton Hill Neighborhood. the second is above Olympic Boulevard in Howarth Park. The third is just outside the Lowell Neighborhood on the Lowell-Larimer Road.
