The accident happened about 10 p.m. Thursday, near Montague Creek in the Oso area, said trooper Keith Leary with the Washington State Patrol.
An Arlington man, 50, was driving a 1989 Chevrolet Camaro and hit the pole. Power lines came down over the road, Leary said.
Utility crews had to complete repairs before the road could be fully reopened about 7 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation. The driver was hospitalized and arrested for investigation of drunken-driving. His injuries weren't believed to be life-threatening.
