Two Zags selected in WNBA draft
The defending WNBA champion Minnesota Lynx used the 19th overall selection to draft Gonzaga’s Kayla Standish. Standish was a standout forward for the Bulldogs, who averaged 16.4 points and 7.5 rebounds per game as a senior.
The New York Liberty used the final pick in the draft (36th overall) to select Katelan Redmon. Redmon started her career at the University of Washington, before transferring to Gonzaga.
Both players helped lead the Bulldogs to back-to-back Sweet 16 appearances in the NCAA tournament and join former teammates Courtney Vandersloot and Vivian Frieson as the only Gonzaga women to be selected in the WNBA draft.
