The nuclear aircraft carrier USS Nimitz pulled away Monday from its pier in Everett.
The warship is headed south for a training run to San Diego and a stop in the San Francisco Bay for the 75th anniversary of the opening of the Golden Gate Bridge.
The nearly 3,000-member crew of the Nimitz is set to return to Everett sometime in May. People can follow the progress of the Nimitz on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/cvn68.
The Nimitz pulled into Everett in March, its first docking as the centerpiece of Naval Station Everett.
