The Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County is holding a handbag auction and luncheon May 3 at the Mill Creek Country Club.
For the auction, the agency is asking for new or gently used purses.

Help: Hospice and Home Care seeking volunteers
Hospice and Home Care of Snohomish County is looking for volunteers to help in a multitude of ways such as visiting patients, delivering supplies, working in the office and helping with events.
Two-hour information sessions are held at either 2 p.m. or 6 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month, 2731 Wetmore Ave. Call 425-261-4815 for more information and to register.
Donate: Animal shelter hosts open house
The Camano Animal Shelter Association is set to host its third annual "Little Whiskers Open House" from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday 198 Kan Cu Road, Camano Island.
The event is to prepare the shelter for the kitten season, so it's asking guests to bring donations such as cat food, kitten milk replacement formula or monetary donations. People can learn about kitten fostering or adopt a pet.

Donate: Union to hold food drive
The Machinist Union District Lodge 751 is conducting a food drive through the month of April to help feed unemployed workers and their families.
People can donate cash or non-perishable food at any union halls operated by District 751 including the one located at 8729 Airport Road, Everett.
Sew: Make a blanket for children in need
The Snohomish County chapter of Project Linus is organizing Blanket Day starting from noon to 5 p.m. April 29 at Pacific Fabrics, 10203 Evergreen Way, Everett.
Everyone is invited to create a blanket and quilts which will be given to children who have experienced traumatic events in the county.
No experience is required, but bringing a sewing machine is encouraged.
Volunteers are needed to sew, iron, inspect, fringe or tie. There will be snacks and door prizes.
People unable to attend can help by donating a quilt or blanket any time at Everett's Pacific Fabrics.

Donate: High school library looking for cash donations
The Glacier Peak High School library is asking for cash donations to purchase books.
The library is aiming to raise $2,000 by April 30. For every $15 donated, the library can purchase a book. The library aims to expand its novel. French and German books collection.
