The crash happened at the corner of Highway 9 and Soper Hill Road in Lake Stevens after a pursuit that started in Marysville.
Snohomish PUD crews were still working on the broken power pole Thursday morning.
The driver crashed just beyond it. He was ejected and his car hit the pole, which dropped wires down onto the car.
Rescuers had to make sure the power was off before they could get the man out. He was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett's Colby campus.
Police said they received several calls reporting a couple of men prowling parked cars in a southeast Marysville neighborhood were received at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
When police arrived, one of the prowlers jumped in a white jeep, fled and later crashed.
The man is now being investigated theft and felony eluding, KIRO reported.
