The Utsalady Ladies Aid group plans to offer a community Earth Day ham dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Ladies Aid Building, 78 Utsalady Road.
Funds raised go to the group's charitable work in the community.
Plant sale supports fire department
The Mabana Flames volunteer fire auxiliary has scheduled its annual plant sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Mabana Fire Station, 3651 South Camano Drive.
Mill Creek: Students open food bank
The Mill Creek Food Bank, organized by students at Jackson High School, opens today at 5:15 p.m. in the school annex.
The school is located at 1508 136th St. S.E.
To get the food bank started, Jackson's Timberwolves participated in a Munch Madness (a March Madness basketball type bracket) in which teachers competed to collect food for the Mill Creek Food Bank.
Jackson's Interact Club organized and sorted the food and will prepare bags for food bank clients at the opening.
Snohomish: Speech, debate team demo
The Snohomish High School team is giving a demonstration of what they do and also holding a fundraiser Friday. Any funds obtain will help cover transportation costs to attend tournaments around the country.
Any donations are accepted at the event. It starts at 7 p.m. First Presbyterian Church, 1306 Lake View Ave., Snohomish.

Stanwood: American Legion fundraiser
The Stanwood American Legion plans to offer a prime rib dinner at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the Frank Hancock Post 92, 26921 88th Ave. NW. Cost is $13.
Money raised from the dinner goes to support the post's projects for veterans and its scholarship fund.

Concert to benefit low-income housing
The 16th annual Voices of Hope choral benefit concert and bake sale is set for 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 26900 78th Ave. NW.
Proceeds help Housing Hope provide services for homeless and low-income families in Snohomish County and Camano Island.
Voices of Hope is organized by Housing Hope's Stanwood Ambassadors, a long-standing committee of volunteers supporting Lervick Family Village and Lincoln Hill Village. The program includes performances by local school and church choirs.
Sultan: Concert to benefit teen program
The rock and roll band Like A Storm is performing to help the Volunteers of America Safe Stop program at 7 p.m., Saturday, Bubba's Roadhouse Bar and Grill, 924 U.S. 2. A nonperishable food item, a toy, sporting equipment or $1 gets you through the door. Anything that cannot be used for the program will be given to the local food bank.
The Sky Valley Safe Stop program gives teens in Sultan and Gold Bar a place to play sports and get together after school.
