Edward J. Oas, 63, died Friday at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland, a day after he suffered a medical emergency while driving on U.S. 2 near Gold Bar, according to a State Patrol report.

The Gold Bar man was driving west Thursday just after 5 p.m. when his Ford F-150 pickup crossed the centerline and smashed into a Dodge minivan driven by a 37-year-old Gold Bar woman driving the other direction.

She wasn't injured, but the minivan was totalled.

Oas was transported to the hospital. He died the next day at the hospital from the medical condition, according to the report.
